SION's strategy in helping the unreached people-groups in the villages among the Turkana
people of Kenya and the Dalits of India is to:
Maintain and increase the outreach efforts by supporting holistic ministries among the unreached villages in Turkanaland and India through the indigenous nationals.
Maintain operational and management efficiency by requiring greater and measurable input and output activities among the full-time SI missionaries and staff through regular reporting, evaluations, and accountability.
Engage greater involvement of the Board of Directors in the SI operations through fundraising and individual ministry advocacy efforts.
Undertake overseeing special humanitarian projects each year, e.g., provision of water, food, medical care, etc.

SI Board members visit Turkanaland
A team of six U.S. and Kenya Board members traveled
to Turkanaland in February on a ten-day administrative
assignment. The team held extensive meetings
with leaders of each SI department, staff, pastors,
parents, and government/non-government and political
leaders to determine the state and future of the SI
ministry in Turkanaland. The team also visited villages
where SI has planted churches, encouraging believers
and delivering bags of foodstuffs among many starving
families. The visit served to launch the SI five-year plan
for Turkanaland.
