A Note from the SICoK coordinator
I recently read a book by Tim Dearborn called "Beyond Duty" about mission. He asks the question, "What is God doing in the world in which he is calling us to participate and with whom we can partner so as to manifest signs of the coming kingdom?" As I read this, I want to thank each of you for your desire to be used by God in Lodwar, Kenya to manifest signs of the kingdom of God. This is a different place because many of you have committed to engage in this ministry.
Sponsorship in this ministry focuses care on a specific person in a specific place. It is hard to pray for raw statistics. However, a face, a name, and a place can be brought before the Lord with passion and conviction. Our program now includes sponsorship in the areas mentioned above. Your partnership is invaluable.
Let us continue to pray that God would enlarge our hearts. Bob Pierce, the founder of World Vision, prayed "Let my heart be broken with the things that break the heart of God." If we do pray this prayer, God will open the eyes of our hearts and plant seeds for change. May God give us ears to hear and eyes to see so that we would not miss one thing that He would have for us today.
with a grateful heart,
Emily Huff
